Little functional movement of deadlifts, but nothing like Saturday. Travel day today, so much time was spent walking. Got home, didn’t feel like working out — so I didn’t.
Returned to non-vegetarianism today. Usual vegetarian diets before consisted of a lot of starchy carbs mainly to curb hunger from excessive ghrelin hormones and lack of dietary fat in the meals.
But what I discovered in this brief foray into vegetarianism is the sensitivity to garlic and meat scents in people. You can’t imagine how much garlic is in our everyday food! I can smell it in the breath of almost everyone I meet. And when my daughter snuggles up to me, I can smell the heavy, meaty scent emanating from her. And I get hungry really fast. I did make sure that I didn’t gorge on too much starchy carbs and ate mostly veggies, beans, and nuts. But I do eat egg.
Throughout this period, I did not feel overly full or bloated. Did help that I didn’t eat starchy carbs that I know will give me the satisfying fullness feel coupled with the bloated abdomen.
Could the lack of willpower to workout be a direct result of vegetarianism?
I ate meat again, and the clouds did not part to let the angels sing. Nor did I savor and enjoy the taste and texture of animal flesh as I thought I would. It was just another meal. And I kinda missed the wholesomeness feel of eating mainly plants. (The spinach, raisin, chickpea, almond, feta cheese sweet vinaigrette salad I had was a wonderful eating experience.) I’ll probably reduce the amount of meat I’ll eat from now on anyway.
