The schedule was supposed to be a strength day, and I was prepared to work out. But coach decided to replace it with a rest day because of the LF/HF ratio being high around 8 where it should be 2. And because I said I was a bit tired on Monday. However, I felt recovered after the Tuesday rest day, so…
I’d be if I said I wasn’t disappointed to discover the change. I can be naughty and still do something, but I’m not going to because this is the reason for hiring the coach: to get my body into a healthy state so I can eventually be better (not necessarily faster). So rest day today, and work on really mellowing out with meditation, breath work, cold thermogenesis, curcumin supplements (as articles I read indicated inflammation as a factor of low vagal tone), all in the pursuit of 2.0 LF/HF ratio.
I always thought HRV was the end all be all number to look at, but coach enlightened me to the ratio to read more about my body. So it is huge to realize though I may feel chill that I’ not actually chill. Can this be a large factory to why my MAF pace has not improved much despite a year of training?
Update: Did a 20 minute meditation session. I was always curious how meditation affects HRV, and now knowing more about LF and HF, how it affects that. Check it out! 1.4, baby!
