The start of build 2 week of a 3-week meso-cycle. So this are supposed to build up more vigorously this week. However, started with a recovery walk to recover from yesterday’s brick bike and run. 1:00 walk. Easy.
Supposed to swim this afternoon — an easy swim to basically recover.
This is just an easy swim, low effort and the warmup includes the 100s so start very easy to get the feel for water and movement. None of the workout is about speed.
10-15 X 100 – alternate swim, drill, kick. Drills are catchup, high elbow, sculling, etc.
Did total of about 800m. First 300, rain and lightning. Waited it out, jumped back in when all clear. But when I saw flashes again, I thought back to the purpose of this swim: get a feel of the water and more active recovery. Can’t focus on the drills with the flashes in the sky anyway, so erred on side of caution and got out.
