Saturday, 13 February 2016: Walk/Run

20′ walk
90′ low effort run
10′ walk

Went for a midday run to soak up the sun for Vitamin D. Haven’t been in the sun lately as I’m on the trainer for all my biking, and my runs are late afternoon when the sun is low.

Ran at MAF-10 pace, but the heat quickly carried my HR up to MAF and settled about 5 beats above 140. That’s at my 130 pace I’ve established from runs before. Intensity was really easy and definitely conversational, but it’s just my HR increasing to help cool off my skin.

I would walk to get my HR down, but the jog is right at the threshold between walk and jog. Below that threshold, my HR drops severely below MAF below 130. At the jog, stuck at 140. Know this is more about heat instead of intensity, kept at the slow jog and upper MAF range for the run.
